Colour in the City - Colour Blocks

Brief

As editor and designer of a publication generate and edit the content of an A3 editorial piece that explores the theme of structure in the city; engaging an audience of designers, architects and those interested in the visual arts.

Concept and Outcome

Focus on colour provides an alternative view on architecture in central London. By creating simplified illustrations that emphasise the integral part that colour plays emphasising structure in the design of selected buildings, the piece provides an unusual viewpoint on the city, and an engaging aesthetic. At A3 scale, plenty of white space is given to text and illustrations. Large headlines utilise the geometric shapes of Futura to underline the theme of structure and to compliment the stylistic illustrations.
